All About Us

ServiceMaster Clean of Fraser Valley started in March of 1996 by Dave Ross.   Since its beginning the business has grown considerably from a staff of 3 to currently employing 10 Full-time (see some of our GREAT people below) and 52 Part-time staff.    We have two locations, one in Abbotsford which is our administration Offices and one in Chilliwack which is our warehousing facility and vehicle depot.  

ServiceMaster Clean continues to grow each year and we are looking forward with great expectation for future growth in the Fraser Valley area.    Currently, we provide premier Janitorial  services to about 104 businesses. We also have the privilege offer Residential and Commercial Cleaning services to many of the residents of the Fraser Valley. 

ServiceMaster Clean's strong corporate commitments and core values, resonate with the deep personal convictions Dave and Mary-Lynne hold. It is these convictions that motivate them as they serve the Fraser Valley.

Meet Our Team

Dave Ross is the owner of ServiceMaster Clean of Fraser Valley and purchased this franchise in November of 1996.  Of course, as the owner he has the first choice of things he loves to do, for him it is serving customers personally.  It is rare to see Dave without a big smile! He loves what he does.  As our most experienced technician, Dave is our go-to person for troubleshooting any part of our business. He has over two decades of experience in carpet cleaning, floor refinishing, dryer vent cleaning, duct & furnace cleaning, post construction cleaning, etc. When you meet him it would be easy to forget he actually owns the company!  It's not uncommon to find Dave helping out cleaning a toilet or washing floors in a Janitorial account or visiting a client's location just to see how things are going for them.  He is customer service oriented and is always on the look out to find ways to make our customers experience that much better.  

Below is a little story about Dave and his commitment to customer service:

"On one occasion Dave was working in the home of an elderly lady.  This lady normally had a care worker coming in to check on her and help with meals, however, on this day the care worker was not there yet.  The lady said she was hungry, so Dave asked her if there was anything he could get her to eat and the lady replied  -"a couple of poached eggs would be nice" .   So Dave made her a couple of poached eggs!"    

Happily married for 36 years, Dave is a husband and father of 3 sons, 2 grandsons and 2 granddaughters.   He volunteers his spare time as the President of the Chilliwack Harmony Society where he pursues one of his great passions - singing barbershop.  Perhaps on a Valentines Day or some other occasion you might see Dave singing in either a Chorus or Quartette delivering their signature "Singing Valentines".     Dave is also involved at his church at Northview Community Church greeting people and singing on the worship team.  Where there is music, you will find Dave.

Mary-Lynne moved to BC in 1987 from Ontario, with her husband Dave, and settled in Chilliwack.  Prior to joining her husband in this business, she came from leading and managing staffing at a local newspaper.

Here at ServiceMaster Clean Mary-Lynne is responsible for all Human Resource Management as well as overseeing the Financials of the company. She is a natural at finding and hiring all the valuable staff we have working for our Company, as well as helping to support them in their personal goals. Also, as overseer of the financials, she runs reports, and review our ROI's and KPI's. She has certification in Small Business Human Resources and has completed multiple small business training courses for leading and managing people and business.

Apart from business, Mary-Lynne is a wife, mother to 3 sons, and grandmother of 4 grandchildren. Her favorite hobbies are photography and decorating. Faith, family & business are the things that mean the most to Mary-Lynne and keep her busy.

Ken joined ServiceMaster Clean in 2001 as a Carpet Technician and soon moved into the position of Sales. He has a big heart and loves to get out and talk with our customers.  He is always assisting new businesses to get quality cleaning at a reasonable price while maintaining relationships with current clients to ensure they are getting their needs met. Ken credits his success to a lifetime of learning relationships through marriage, family, friends, and past business ventures. If you have met Ken, you will know he is a Pittsburgh Steelers fan for life and that he can cook just about anything in his smoker.

Sales/ Account Manager (Residential/Commercial)

Patrick joined ServiceMaster in May of 2010 as a Carpet and Floor Technician.  over the last 10 years he has distinguished himself not only as a top notch carpet technician, but consistently won high praise from his customers. Patrick's previous experience was working with Sears and Coit Carpet Cleaning.  He is fully trained and certified with his IICRC and ServiceMaster Capture & Removal training.  

In January of 2014 Patrick asked to try his hand at sales, he started out sharing his time between sales and carpet care but soon requested to go full-time into sales, since then has done very well. He has brought fresh insight and ideas to the sales process and we look forward to seeing his success continue! 

Patrick also has a very musical history, he is an accomplished violinist and got his start quite young playing with the McGregor Family Fiddlers. He has won many competitions and in his spare time teaches others.   Patrick became a new dad in 2014, his wife and son keep him on his toes while he is at home.  His other interests include playing Hockey or Golf and quoting Star Wars.  We are really privileged to have Patrick as a part of our ServiceMaster Clean Team!

Nikki -Nikki -Office Manager

Nikki joined ServiceMaster Clean of Fraser Valley in November of 2008 as a part-time receptionist. From that time, she has taken the time to learn all the aspects of ServiceMaster Clean and today she is a full-time valuable member of the team and our Office Manager. She is responsible for payroll, keeping accounts up to date, and making sure the office runs smoothly. After work, Nikki likes to fill her free time by walking local trails or being immersed in a good book.

Jamie joined our team in 2018 and quickly became a key member in the way ServiceMaster Clean runs today. As our Operations Manager, Jamie supports supervisors and cleaners complete their duties. He has developed and implemented new work processes to help support and improve our service to customers. He ensures that all accounts are updated, monitored, and meet ServiceMaster standard.

Kris has been an amazing addition to our team this year. Kris handles the scheduling of our Technicians for interior and exterior cleaning services. He also works with our HR Manager to find the perfect candidates to join the ServiceMaster Clean family, including recruiting and setting up interviews. Outside of the office Kris is a husband, an owner of two beloved cats, a video game enthusiast and the 2007 Canadian Sparing Champion with a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Sharyl has been a valued member of our ServiceMaster clean family for over 10 years. She coordinates supplies to our accounts and cleaners. Sharyl also manages inventory and equipment.  During her time off, Sharyl can be found camping with her family and creating fun memories with her two sons.

Canadian Contribution

Over the years, Canada has made several contributions to ServiceMaster Clean operations internationally. A program initially known as Spotlight was launched in 1973 and is the father of modern carpet care maintenance methods. It consisted primarily of the concept of spot cleaning, complemented by less frequent deeper cleaning procedures.

Additionally, Canada pioneered the sale of franchises by service line. This concept promoted greater expertise and knowledge in each service line.
